John Thadius Williams, C.S.A

John Thadius Williams enlisted Oct 1, 1861 Bowling Green, Kentucky Company "A" Butler's 1st Kentucky Calvary and served until his Company surrendered May 9, 1865 in Washington, Georgia and took the oath of allegiance May 21, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee.          Judge John Thadeus “Thad” Williams son of Alfred Wesley Williams and Sarah Matthews Sandefur  was born 29 Aug 1844 in Near Niagra, Henderson County, Kentucky, and died 23 Mar 1911 in accidental fall from barn..  It is believed that he is buried in Pleasant Valley cemetery but grave has not been found.  He married (1) Laura A. Watkins 26 Apr 1867 in Henderson County, Kentucky.  She was born 1849 in Kentucky, and died after 1880 Census.  He married (2) Attie Chella Averitt 17 Sep 1887 in Valley Church, Near Robards, Henderson, Kentucky by Rev. John Hardy, daughter of Joseph Averitt and Mary Giltner.  She was born 15 Feb 1866 in Diamond Island Bend near Henderson, Kentucky, and died 23 Mar 1929 in Evansville, Indiana, at home 1117 Harriet Street, Evansville, Indiana. She is buried in Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, Kentucky.

May 27, 1890 ORDERS } HENDERSON COUNTY COURT.

This day came J. T. Williams and filed his commission from the Governor of this Commonwealth as Police Judge of the town of Robards and in open court took the oath of office prescribed by law and with F. M. Eakin and W. A. Sandefur his sureties approved by the Court executed Bond to the Commonwealth of Kentucky conditioned according to law and then Court adjourned  Jno F. Lockett, Judge. [Court Order Book J Pg 430]

        4                 i.    John M. Williams, born 19 Sep 1888 in Kentucky; died 30 Mar 1899 in Kentucky.

        5                ii.    Nathaniel Giltner Williams, born 29 Oct 1890 in Kentucky; died 29 Oct 1970 in Community Methodist Hospital.

        6               iii.    Mary Williams, born 01 Nov 1891 in Kentucky; died 31 Mar 1981 in Evansville, Indiana, at Evansville Healthcare Center.

        7               iv.    Augustus Brooks Williams, born 02 Mar 1894 in Kentucky.

        8                v.    Lillian Elizabeth Williams, born 16 Mar 1900 in Robards, Kentucky; died 23 Feb 1926 in Evansville, Indiana.

        9               vi.    George M. Williams, born Abt. 1902 in Kentucky; died 22 Oct 1930 in Evansville, Indiana.  He married Tillie 1926; born Abt. 1902 in Indiana
