Henry Hardesty's Will

         In the name of God amen.  I  Henry Hardesty of the County of Henderson & State of Kentucky being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, (or you may say this considering the uncertainty of this uncertain life, and being of Sound and perfect mind blessed be almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and Testament, in manner and form following (That is to Say) first I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Hannah Hardesty the land and plantation I now live own dureing her life.  One Bay Horse and mare, four cows & calfs and two stwears all my hogs, thirteen head of Sheep, two Beds and furnature, and Household furniture.  I have give unto Eldest son Jessee Hardesty, the amount of ninety Dollars in hand paid.  I have give unto My Son William Hardesty the amount of One Hundred Dollars in hand paid.  I have give unto my son Christopher Hardesty the amount of One Hundred and eighty Dollars in hand paid.
I give unto my Daughter R Porter the amount of Two Hundred Dollars in hand paid.  I have give unto my Daughter Rachel Grimes the amount of One Hundred Dollars in hand paid.  I do also give and bequeath to my Son JAMES HARDESTY  One bay Horse,  one Sorrel mare colt, Six head of cattel all the Hogs that is in his marke.ONE RIFLE GUN & SHOT POUTCH AND POWDER HORN and the land and Plantation I now live on after the death of my wife Hannah Hardesty.  I do also give and bequeath unto my Daughter Nancy Hardesty one bay mare and colt one cow and calf, one bed and furniture.  Whom I hereby appoint Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 9th day of July 1821.

         I have copied the wording and spelling as acuratly as possible from the copy I have.   I have capitalized the gun and pouch, as we still have it in the family, and will put a picutre of it on the net within the month.
