The family stories indicate he was part Indian. He married Thankful BROWDER of Hopkins Co, and they had 4 sons and 4 daughters: Ruby (m), Goldie (f), Eva, Jack, Julia, Robert Monroe, William Highland, and Martha J. Some of the children were born in Hopkins Co. and some were born in Christian Co.
